I 100% agree with this point: It should not be on any minority to prove their American by sacrifice. But in the same breath, no community is going to get built with any parties standing around with their arms folded. It’s okay to lend yourself to a cause.

100% agree. I get that it’s galling to have to compensate for other people’s ignorance by working harder than the average person to get in their good graces. Unfortunately it’s also the only thing that has ever worked for me from firsthand experience.
