    Just found out that awarded me one of their $8000 Tree of Life Grant Awards to sequence, assemble, and annotate the whole Birgus latro (coconut crab) genome! I’m so thrilled and honored to receive this award, and so excited to work with them on this project! 🧬🦀👩🏽‍🔬

    Just finished the last of the RNA extractions for Chapter 2 of my dissertation! Next week, I’ll QC the samples and then hopefully send them off for high-throughput sequencing. I can’t wait to see what story lies in the data! 🦀👩🏽‍🔬🧬🦀
