wondering why WP theme shops such as @organicthemes or @thethemefoundry don’t email users when updates for purchased themes are released?

@organicthemes yes, but one needs to log into the dashboard… not practical when administering client-sites.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

…and those 3rd-party update servers don’t work reliably with remote admin tools, and don’t honor “auto_update_theme” :-(
