"It appears that consciousness is a very rare & precious thing & we should take whatever steps we can to preserve the light of consciousness. Only now, after 4.5 billion years has that window been open. That’s a long time to wait and it might not stay open for long.” -

This is something an atheist or agnostic would say. All of this alarmist talk doesn't change the fact that humans are meant to traverse the vastness of space though.🤔

Also, there are religious scientists, engineers, doctors, analysts, etc. To stay that most STEM careerists are atheist/agnostic or are expected to be such is simply a myth. Most of the people that I know working in these fields are devout coreligionists, excelling at work.🤔

How far back atheist and agnostic scientist started to contribute to science? Most likely about 100 to 150 years ago? Science prior to that was the contribution of religious scientists. Science and religion aren’t mutually exclusive like it is led to believe.

You must read Biography of Galileo. You will delete your tweet. I also do agree Jesuit priests did a lot of scientific work in manufacturing, production, etc. But they would never cross the religious dogma set infront of them. Galileo and ilk, didn't carry that burden.

Duly noted, and I advise you to read about the Islamic golden era and the scientist that contributed a wealth of knowledge spanning across major scientific fields. Again science and religion are not mutually exclusive…Tweet stays.

You can’t apply Christianity and brush over other religions, that said, Christianity still exists to today and it’s conceivable to find Christian scientists that contributed heavily in the development of humanity ie; post the dark ages.

In other religions, just the superstitious beliefs itself has stopped them from exploring science to the full bandwidth. We can see that across Asia. Ex: it was forbidden in Hinduism to cross the oceans in the past. Just superstitious stuff, from India to Korea to china.
