As someone who's been doing music streams for 6,5 years on Twitch, and powered through the bad circumstances for it, I feel conflicted. Happy to see they're promoting the music section. Unhappy to see they forgot the people who worked hard to make it into the community it is now.

I started in a time when you got reported for making music on Twitch. Back then, streaming full time meant you had a personal connection with Twitch, its employees and the company itself. I get that you can't keep that integrity if you wanna make big $$ as a company but lately -

it seems like the personal connection with the website and its inner workings has been lost. I dont need to feel "special" as a creator but I do need to feel like the content I make and others that do similar things are cared for and respected by the platform. Losing this -

Personal vibe and familiarity has meant losing opportunities and motivation. It's the reason I haven't been live for 8 months and why a lot of streamers from 2013/2014 aren't feeling it anymore. Show us you give a shit, and not just want to make money off what we deliver.

As someone who been on both sides of twitch - so much this. Less people care. I don't feel the "magic" so to say anymore. The eyes feel glued to numbers and not to creation and streamers and cool things that happen.

I've tried my hardest to stay on the platform for last two years and only found myself feeling depressed and isolated, like nobody from Twitch side gave a shit about my content. I've since cut down streaming to once a week just for my community to have fun and feel better now.

Exactly this is what I've been going through too! It's hard not to come across entitled or jealous when expressing it, but like... The whole ecosystem is fucked up compared to when we started! I just needed an 8 month break from everything to even feel like myself again :P
