Looking through old photographs I realised how much being on social media affected my creativity in a negative way. Experiencing negative, unconstructive comments halted my creative process. For the last several months I’ve tried to disconnect and just have fun.
I’ve submitted several pictures to different contests and forgot about them. When I got back from Twitchcon, I found out I made it to a shortlist. Totally didn’t expect that, as I only ever won twice when I was in uni many years ago (and those were not so serious competitions).
Winning/making it to shortlist is not something I’m after, but sometimes when you’re on lowest creative point it’s nice to get such confirmation that you’re on a right track. I am happy and excited to discover my creative self again
