Concidering the whole Elsweyr was a mess back in the day, with Akaviri invasions, pirates, necromancy being used as no big deal
it would make for a great set up of a story. Plus, Halls of Colossus sound like a very good Trial place. Or dungeon. It just asks for it! Khajiits also pray to Alkosh, him being one of their earliest gods, and also connected to Dragon Break god. It all comes in a full circle.
