Closing twitter. Closing Facebook. Closing my notes and email. I need to unplug for an evening and think.
Nice idea. After 6pm or so if feasible, unplug from online "social" media. Includes online MP games, they can be just as toxic I found, if not much worse thanks to immature idiots on VOIP.

In general, distancing oneself from "social media" is a good thing. I don't have sources off-hand but I remember from credible sources that there's studies and the like showing clear correlation between social media and unhealthy mental states. It's just not good to be on so much
-
Me personally I found that to be the case. Some days I wish somehow my discord and twitter accounts would just disappear entirely, but then there is to me the problem of catching up with demoscene group folk and RL friends I do meet up with on a yearly basis.

I find it quite easy to close and / or ignore any form of social media. The account can exist, the tab doesn't need to be open, the app doesn't need to be open, and the phone can be sat down and ignored. I know I'm not everyone, but anyone can go a few days with no contact.
-
Yeah, good idea. Set aside at most a day per week for social media.

Whatever works for the individual. Some need to avoid it *completely*. Others can visit whenever they're bored, like me.

I think getting too attached to social medias is a risky thing to our morale. When social media becomes too relevant in our life, douchebag's opinions also become relevant. Though it's a good way to get closer to the fanbase...
