also i fucking love coding html/css and i find python kind of a bore. so i'm having so much more fun setting up this site. i think things are just working a lot better like this

and the art is still going to be really important to the project -- i am planning for each chapter to have multiple illustrations! in fact, i'm really excited about this. i hate editing character portraits to make individual expressions; i love drawing a whole new picture

I HOPE YOU GUYS ARENT MAD BUT a VN was going to be a lot of reading anyway and a web novel format saves me sooo much time in terms of coding and it'll be a fully custom, interactive website with pop-up lore panels and such to imitate the codex system i had been planning :)

ok tl;dr i have come to the realization, after much time, that i love making short games! ...i do not love making long games so JR is going to be an illustrated, interactive web novel! and my game projects are going to be short things like four eyes going forward :)

honestly the #1 thing hindering my progress rn is the fact that my apartment is so small that my "desk" is half of the kitchen table so it's hard to set up my tablet and at this point the artwork is the main thing i need to work on for JR ch 1 orz

cw police brutality Right now Toronto police are violently clearing homeless encampments and it’s nothing short of disgusting. Remind me again how cops “keep the peace” when they’re causing undue misery like this?

btw, the game industry's abusers aren't just active in the AAA space. one of the most notoriously awful people in the indie space, Matt Conn, is still very much active and has been receiving help from various people in the industry
