Households have now been net borrowers for four successive quarters for the first time since records began in 1987 http://ow.ly/zeUg30hoc3b

Or forced to borrow to keep lifestyles up and make ends meet. I'm pessimistic so this is my view

Not pessimistic, just reality for many people. Squeeze on real incomes after inflation (esp food). Increasingly the 'modern' JIT zero-hour-contract jobs require training at own expense, like Fork Lift Truck License just for Minimum Wage warehouse. Degree worth less now than 90's

DEBT record broken , savings rates on floor , both in interest and amounts banked. In 08 something like this was called a Black Swan event , and why we have austerity today - but at least there was membership of EU as a market. The only solution now is indy for Scotland.

Yes I can remember 2007 bank runs, Northern Rock building society and the crowds! But the way the UK & EU have been going the last few years (esp since 2015), "Northern Rock" now means something else!

You’re right. Net-borrowing by households will lead to an economic collapse. Sadly it’s inevitable if the government doesn’t run a large enough deficit.

note, not the case even in 2006-08 for UK (dis)savers.
