This is quite unexpected to me. Elliot Rodger was the rage-filled misogynist who went on an anti-woman hate crime killing spree in California in 2014. "The accused Toronto van driver appears to have lauded an American mass killer"https://cnn.it/2Fcmd6D

It doesn’t make a lot of sense in my mind. If he was inspired by Elliot Rodger, why go after random people on the street? Did he even understand who his target group was?

Incels loathe their fringe status. While they primarily blame 'femoids' (sadly not kidding) they also express contempt for 'normies' and 'chads' (sexually successful men). Their indifference to the incel's 'plight' is worse than hostility - it makes them feel invisible.

That's correct, as far as it goes, but I am not going to make too many assumptions on this specific incident based on the very small amount of info that has come out so far.

And rightly so. I'm extrapolating quite a bit, but I pegged this guy as an incel straight away yesterday - I've known of this subculture going on a decade so he stuck out like a sore thumb. The indiscriminate violence will, if anything, increase his standing among them.

Interesting. Sounds like a lot of self-loathing in the incel community.
