    Also: it's extremely weird/telling how quickly Roupenian's name has been detached from (ugh) 'cat person discourse'. Maybe twitter is a bad place for discussing fiction because it's where people's opinions live.

    'Cat Person' is a good story, but I'm more impressed by Roupenian reinventing the concept of short fiction, which has apparently been defunct since whenever you went to college.

    I can't believe these actually exist. Original concept art for Andrei Tarkovsky's film SOLARIS (1972) from the archives of Mosfilm. They were created by Mikhail Romadin (1940-2012) and are not at all what you'd expect.

    Quit a job I loved because the owners refuse to listen to *at least* 4 women who spoke out against a new hire who had either sexually, mentally or emotionally abused them in some way. Hired him anyway. Apparently our “estrogen fuelled” thing needs to settle. RT

    for me the dril thing is less about "ruining the mystique" and more a big fat reminder that if you try to invoke any sort of privacy and reach any sort of prominence, bored people playing detective can come after you and dig up your shit for any reason or no reason at all
