Sen. Geist: We would not have brought this bill if we thought it was unconstitutional. We are not limiting women from second trimester abortion, but from dismemberment of a living baby. It is a priority to value life in the middle of a pandemic and racial unrest.

By 6 weeks a baby’s heart has been beating for 2 weeks. A touch to its mouth causes it to withdraw its head. It has measurable brain waves, kidneys, and immune cells. In a week it will both hiccup and startle. Banning tearing its limbs from its body while it is alive IS dignity.
