@TeamYouTube how come when I upload a 1080p video it only shows it at 480p?

Thanks for reaching out. Generally, availability of HD may take a bit longer than other resolutions. We're working to improve this. If you prefer to wait for HD, you can upload your video as unlisted & make it public once it's available.

I did that and waited a day but the quality will still automatically go to 480p and it's kinda frustrating

Hmmm one thing I did notice is that on my computer I get 1080p but on a Mobile device the quality automatically goes to 360 or 480p whys that?

Thanks for letting us know. YouTube automatically adjusts the quality from standard to high definition based on the speed of your internet connection. You can manually adjust the video quality of any video you're watching. Here's more info: https://goo.gl/SjLYNp
