I have new policy brief out on the Palestinian national movement, which is in a state or protracted crisis. Check it out in English or Arabic, or both if you’re ambitious.

Comms 101. When you want to introduce a new word, check it’s not rude or offensive. That’s doubly true when your brand has misappropriated some else’s culture and food. In Arabic mmus means suck.

I would give this movie a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes. Predictable plot line, bad acting, idiotic dialogue, too much hype... 👎👎

"Now you have a position where Jerusalem is liberated!" The only redeeming feature of the Trump plan is that we get to hear Jared Kushner expound at length about his grade-school understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

"The word 'apartheid' is hard to hear. It's like a pit in my stomach, evoking the worst associations of injustice. It feels terrible to apply it to a place I love so much. But that is precisely why we are fighting so hard to prevent such a future."

The Arab League has unanimously decided to reject the Trump plan for Israel-Palestine. But why have we seen Arab countries break ranks and develop closer ties with Israel in recent years. Here are my thoughts:

Just tell ‘em what they want to hear. wrote an excellent piece years ago dissecting the past writing of David Friedman, a man interested in serving the interests of messianic settlers above all else, including the country he represents.

It is absolutely a GOOD IDEA if said president violated the constitution. Isn’t that the point? To prevent a bad, corrupt leader from occupying this most powerful office? Just because you are popular enough doesn’t make you innocent or worthy.

In 2014, US Sec. of State warned that Israel was on the verge of becoming an apartheid state. Six years later the US govt has officially championed that system of government through its own “peace” proposal.

Is it any wonder then that Jared Kushner wants the world to ignore history? And David Friedman wants us all to ‘embrace [his] reality’? Probably not.

No doubt the Trump proposal makes a mockery of history and therefore describes a present utterly divorced fro reality.

Leave aside that the fact that statelessness is what the rage is about: if you have to spend every waking moment on TV attacking one of the parties to a conflict, might it strike you that your peace initiative has been unsuccessful?

Israel spent 52 years backing itself into a corner, from which it can no longer save its Zionist project through partition. Yet as we enter the next stage of this conflict, Israel has succeeded in recruiting the US to defend its unjustifiable system
