Heartbroken to read of more young people killed in London. So many ppl are working tirelessly in communities to support young ppl but they need wider support, from government but also all of us - these children and their communities deserve so much more

Well said calling out institutional racism & failure to support young ppl who are its victims “They spent £200k on Operation Shield, a total flop. Every response has been punitive. What we want is prevention & education so young ppl can grow up with aspiration”.

Tweeting on twitter is great & all (hey I do it) but it's not exactly the best way to show your commitment to antiracism, still less indicates youve taken action against racial injustice. Start in yr own organisation, school, neighbourhood (& not just w/unconscious bias training)

The idea that giving people a UBI will make them lazy is rooted in miserable assumptions about human nature. Cheer yourself up by finding out what people really do when you give them free money...

Another knee- jerk response by Met police & govt tends to be stronger sentencing even though research has shown that it has little/no deterrence effect - partic on young ppl. There is no Q that we need a multi-agency & preventative approach.

"We value the contribution made by Commonwealth citizens who have made a life in the UK” ... we came as British citizens & were turned into immigrants ... euphemising history doesn't actually change the facts ...

A new study finds that men in STEM subject areas overestimate their own intelligence and credentials, underestimate the abilities of female colleagues, and that as a result, women themselves doubt their abilities — even when evidence says otherwise.

Gr8 thread & prepares ppl for assessing data. But we're in an era of data (eg race disparity audit) which is impt 1st step, but doesn't address disparity in outcomes. The Q is what are consequences or accountability of gaps? What's the enforcement 4 equality?
