Yeah I ran into issues with mine and had to return it after hours of troubleshooting with Apple
People got so excited for the escape key and improved specs I felt wrong for having issues with it -
I think it is terrible and now I have to waste time on trying to get a new one. Sucks

Just read your post. Did you turn it already and let them check the CPU? Sounds like the heat of the CPU doesn’t get away.. My point being: this might be a manufacturing problem.

I gotta go and do it this weekend - I mean what else do I have to do except wait at the Apple store for a Genius to show their genius.

Yikes, haven’t had that issue with my 16” so far, even when running the XDR. It definitely can get loud when doing work (prototyping, premiering pro, Lightroom etc) but never spins up that much for browsing and basic things
