One of the biggest problems in the media is an obsession by reporters to be seen on the politically correct side of an issue in elite circles — not a commitment to truth, not to evidence, not to holding the powerful accountable and not to giving voice to those on the margins.

For a minute I thought was actually one of those tech founders who wanted to actually engage in a dialogue about what his company was doing with LLMs. Only realized just was just another tech marketing tweet to get social cred via spiel.

Patrick, how has the usage of your systems and amount of derived intelligence gone up? And how has it improved the efficiency-efficacy of your data systems?
I wonder when we can actually engage beyond “bumper sticker” announcements or conversing with supplicants. It is a problem across the tech ecosystem.
It took a 45 minute conversation about homogeneity with ChatGPT exposed me to all its limits. Now looking forward to having the same chat with Claude and Bard. 😂
We built an internal LLM tool (with prompt sharing/discovery, careful privacy controls, configurable models, etc.). Been working on it for a few months, and ~1/3 of people at Stripe are now using it every week. Cool to see how diverse the use-cases are.
