Just finished Consider Phlebas. Didn't think much of it, too many action scenes. Like the Culture concept though so will read the next one

@olliecoe I'd also recommend Peter F Hamilton if you're after a bit of space opera, or Dan Simmons.
@Danbojones Always tempted by Hamilton, those books are beasts! Which do you recommend? I'm a big Phillip K Dick fan trying to branch out

@olliecoe The Night's Dawn trilogy is excellent, but pretty grim in places. the Void trilogy is probably more clever: sci fi/fantasy mix -
