    Today we remembered all those who we lost on that awful day four years ago when a tram crashed at Sandilands and all those who were affected by the terrible events.

    On this day in 2016, 7 people lost their lives and more than 60 were injured in the Sandilands tram derailment. At 11am led a socially-distanced civic ceremony at the town hall to remember this tragedy and pay tribute to all affected by it. – at Croydon Town Hall

    The Croydon Tram Crash inquest has been delayed until Spring 2021, it has been announced. The families are “frustrated and upset by this latest postponement”. The fourth anniversary of the tragedy is on Monday (November 9).

    For me, as for many people in New Addington and Croydon, the US election results bring back painful memories of the Croydon tram crash. We will never forget those who died. I will keep pushing for new laws and safety measures to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.
