Jeff Sessions has come to terms with the fact that his relationship with Trump won't end well one way or the other, noting how things have worsened in recent weeks, I'm told. He jokes that he checks Trump's Twitter for updates.

A sense of paranoia already existed in the West Wing. Staffers didn't trust one another and suspected people of leaking on them if they didn't like them. Several now predicting that's only going to get worse as people try to guess who wrote this.

Interesting how the White House is not disputing the authenticity of the NYT op-ed. Trump/Sanders aren't shouting "fake news" & trying to instill doubt by noting person is anonymous. Instead, they are attacking NYT for publishing it and calling for the senior official to resign.
