Hey Seattle science peeps! I'm giving a UW Immunology invited talk on February 3, 2020, 3:30 p.m. at Orin Smith Auditorium, SLU: 'older' work from & newer work from (both lab collabs). Come by to get over your Superbowl hangover

Based on the content of my mentions, I feel like I need to further debunk crazy / HIV conspiracy preprint. This is a thread doing so. 1/9

We made it to ! One of the things I did this week was update images for 's epic project. Important, but also a lot of fun. Thanks again for the scope time, ! Green=Actin Cyan=Microtubules Magenta=Nuclei

A microscope field of Schizosaccharomyces pombe cells with actin labeled in green and nuclei in magenta. Nuclei are round circles in the center of each cell, actin is mostly in punctate structures at cell ends or in cytokinetic rings in cell middle.
A microscope field of Schizosaccharomyces pombe cells with microtubules labeled in cyan and nuclei in magenta. Nuclei are round circles in the center of each cell, microtubules appear as several long lines in interphase cells, or as one bright line dividing nuclei in mitosis.

We wrote the review that I wished I'd had when I started my PhD in gene regulation & genomics! Read for our take on the past 40 yrs of enhancer biology, a def of an "enhancer", and how we think modern tech (like CRISPR screens) will enable the next era of understanding the genome
