Any app that includes downloadable content that is not backed up should be able to restore itself to its former state after a restore.

An app that does this very nicely is @OvercastFM. It saves episode download and played state to a server, but you can do it locally, too.

@olebegemann It's not clear to me how @OvercastFM really handles that. If an episode falls off the feed/server it can't be redownloaded.
