@olebegemann NSDocumentController does that for you, doesn't it?

@TacticalGrace I donʼt know. I just know that I have some apps that should do this but donʼt (@gittower 2 being the most recent example). - View other replies

@olebegemann If they don't subclass NSDocument, they need to do that explicitly +@gittower -
@TacticalGrace FWIW, Tower does have a File > Open Recent menu. These items just donʼt show up in the Dock iconʼs context menu. -
@olebegemann It's curious. AFAIK, the menu's and Dock icon's lists are the same in the default NSDocument setup. -
@TacticalGrace Itʼs quite possible that Tower doesnʼt use NSDocument, of course. -
@olebegemann A Git repo is certainly not a standard issue document. It doesn't have a document type, for example.

@olebegemann Doesn't it do that automatically now? I had to remove that feature from my app to avoid duplicates. -
@mjtsai It seems NSDocument does it. I have some apps that work like document-based apps but are perhaps not based on NSDocument.

@olebegemann isn’t that default behaviour?
