        Not sure I’d want to write native UI in Javascript but that’s not the interesting part about React Native anyway.

        @olebegemann It only seems interesting if you coming from the web platform where the notion of a render tree defined as a function is new.

        @milend It’s not a new concept but UIKit is definitely not designed that way (treat the view hierarchy as a function of the data).

        @olebegemann I always thought that Cocoa gives you the freedom to adopt that approach or not and it's up to the devs to pick the best.

        @olebegemann As I've gained more experience, I've always designed my UI state to be a function of an underlying model.

        @olebegemann Then that model is easily represented by NSViews etc. So anims would be part of abstract model. Makes things simpler.
