@olebegemann ...backed up again, just at a very fast speed.

@backblaze Which is what I wrote, didn't I? My issue is that deduplication doesn't work in all situations or can take weeks to take effect. -
@olebegemann Shouldn't take that long Ole! If you're finding that to be the case, can you please write into support http://bit.ly/nZxyDB ?

@olebegemann Handling of external drives is bizarre. Do you think it’s all because they’re worried about being used as non-backup storage? -
@mjtsai@olebegemann First thought that came to my mind. "Backing up" terrabytes of data can be a huge problem for them. -
@milend@olebegemann Shame that flat pricing leads to it being harder to use. I wonder why CrashPlan doesn’t seem bothered.

@olebegemann you are living the future! Your crashplan article refers to 2015 ;) -
@fischbauch Fixed, thanks.

@olebegemann The external drive policy is one that kept me away from Backblaze. Are you going to review Crashplan? -
@olebegemann Thanks. So for now it’s Backblaze for you?
-
-
-
@olebegemann why did you go from CrashPlan to BlackBlaze? -
@nicolaih Did you read my post on CrashPlan? -
@olebegemann ah! Reading it now. Thanks.

@olebegemann Thanks for the write-up Ole! Just wanted to clarify that if you move files, we de-duplicate. It may seem like data is being... -
@olebegemann Also, interesting points about the handling of moved files. Sounds like moving will always cause historical backups to be lost? -
@olebegemann I frequently had problems where Backblaze said I was "up to date" but website didn't have my backups. I use Time Capsule now.
