A question, if I may. In Australia, the term Anglo was often used to refer to English people. In the Uk though this seems insulting to some. Is there some literature about this perhaps?

Hi Joanna, good question! In this context the Anglo in Anglo-Saxon refers to the Angles, a Germanic tribe that migrated to Britain in the 5th century and mixed with the Saxons. As early as the 6th century their name was extended to all the Germanic inhabitants of Britain. xx

Fascinating! Have these runes been translated?
-
Yes, that's the Kingmoor ring found in Carlisle by chance in 1817. Now at
@britishmuseum. It has 30 runes: 27 outside & 3 inside. The group of runes ærkriu is probably a charm for stanching blood. The rings that contain it are thought to be amulets. Magical gibberish. 30 = 9x3 +3pic.twitter.com/5OQTQvcg7M

I think I had a replica of that ring. May have bought it from the store 'Past Times'.

Migrating or invading?

-
Most likely both. Depending on which tribe / culture and, what may have started with trade and friendly migration may have turned into invading like the Romans seemed to have done.
