It's going to get toasty! Check out the forecasted max temps for today & tomorrow. Add in some moisture & the heat index may be a tad uncomfortable. For historic reference, also take a look at the statewide heat index averaged over the past 15 yrs for June & July.

Looks like our Eva Mesonet site tied the record for the lowest temperature ever recorded on this date at 40 degrees! This puts Eva in company with Boise City's historical June 10 low of 40 deg in 1908 and 1910, and Okeene's 40 deg on June 10, 1903.

This is near record-breaking rainfall for the central OK climate region (includes OKC and Stillwater). Year to date rainfall comes in 2nd place behind 1990 going back to 1921. The current cumulative rainfall is 8.74 inches above the 15-year average.

Showers and storms will spread northeastward late tonight into the day Saturday. Strong to severe storms will be possible across north Texas and southern Oklahoma with a threat for hail. Otherwise, widespread rain is expected with cold temperatures.

Decreasing relative humidity, gusty winds, dryness, & warm temps are working together to create elevated & critical fire weather conditions for far W/NW/panhandle of OK in today's outlook. Tulsa NWS does a good job reminding us about fire safety in graphic below.
