I think I know why I wasn't able to get QSPI to work. If I'm right...everyone will be laughing at me. It's really silly. Going to test my hypothesis now.

@oe1cxw’s picosoc. I haven’t touched the SPI IP, so I assumed it would still work. But you are right, I should double-check simulation first to make sure quad mode is still functional. Should be simple enough.
I was using the right prototype board, but it had the wrong pins soldered onto it so I picked up another board. Now I have the right board with IO2 and IO3 connected.
This is what my hx8k breakout board looks like, if that is of any help. (The two wires and of course you have to swap out the spi flash chip for one that actually supports qspi. Ignore all other hacks you might see in this picture. :)pic.twitter.com/npBCWRxfM6

Thanks, I’m running it on some BX prototypes. I think it’s the particular flash chip I’m using. I’m going to order the same one from the icebreaker board and try that out. The other ISSI flash chip I tried didn’t even work to boot the picosoc.
