idea: since apparent inductance of the coil in an induction stovetop changes with temperature of the pan/pot, you could measure the resonant frequency and use it as a proxy for temperature, though you'll need either compatible pots or calibration

the problem is that the inductance is also very sensitive to the spacing between the pot and the induction cooker pure-ish iron has a permeability of ~5000, meaning +1mm of air = +5m of iron
