Just got it working. Was a little bit of work to change the reset vector from 0x100000 to 0x50000, but now its done. Time to check the dual and quad spi modes.pic.twitter.com/QDAWZNEOyo
Hmm...no dice. Need to double check the SPI commands used. The flash used on the BX supports dual and quad SPI, but maybe the commands are different than what picosoc uses. Time to debug.
I got Dual I/O working by forcing dummy cycles to '0'. According to the datasheet the flash requires no dummy cycles for dual I/O. Still no luck on quad I/O, should work soon though. https://datasheet.octopart.com/AT25SF081-SSHD-B-Adesto-Technologies-datasheet-31984108.pdf …pic.twitter.com/gp0maVQ7mA
I’ll have to hook up a logic analyzer to see what’s going on with quad SPI mode. Every time I try to switch to quad SPI it crashes. I suspected it has something to do with the dummy cycles but no value made a difference.
Might try something fun like adding VGA to picosoc in the meantime.
@oe1cxw: what’s a known good SPI flash chip to use with the SPI XIP in picosoc?
