I want to start a *nix distribution that doesn't include any software written by famous assholes but that seems a little unrealistic

look, I don't know about you but I've read blogs by quite a few Windows kernel developers and none of them were bitter jerks
Maybe Linus wouldn't come off as bitter jerk if he just wrote a blog and we wouldn't see posts on lkml.. All I am saying is this (1) it is easy to assume something is good when one doesn't have all the information (2) those are big projects with many different people involved

I'm sure there are many unpleasant people on the Windows NT team but so long as it isn't a culture of screaming obscenities at maintainers because they had the nerve to disagree with a dubious decision you made I don't care
