Do we ever describe drivers as "confined to a car" or "auto-bound?" No, we do not.
I completely agree with the sentiment. However, I know some bikers who use exactly that language when talking about people who use cars. "Bürgerkäfig" (german for "citizen cage") is also a term thrown around a lot in that circles.
