So far I've just been playing around a bit with Krita. Didn't look into binding buttons yet. Also: I have two monitors but I want the tablet to only span one of the screens. But I didn't look into how to do that either so far.

25 years ago I got one of the first USB keyboard prototypes from Cherry. Hired a guy to write a USB stack for Linux. Upset Linus so much that he wrote his own Linux USB stack.

Either way you look at it, money well spent. Thank you for the contribution.

Would you mind talking a bit on how you approached REing the protocol?

Put a lot of printk in the USB stack, moved around the stylus and looked at the USB traffic. Learning how the USB stack works was the hardest part. Nowadays the Linux Kernel has infrastructure for logging USB traffic. You can simply look at it in something like Wireshark.
