I did think about this one quite a bit (WebAudio for output, Gamepad API for input), but AFAIK there isn't yet a way to select a specific audio device to play to, and the user can break it by e.g. muting the output device. The one I have in mind is even more wtf assuming it works

I looked at that as well, but it *) needs a security prompt *) Firefox efforts to implement it were stalled for over a year until it picked up again just recently (meaning it's still not done)
