(I think this particular issue was user-error- I CTRL+C'd during a bad build to change an option (CC=gcc instead of CC=cc), and didn't bother cleaning. Recompiling now.)
Cannot duplicate the icepack segfault, so I'm going to assume PEBKAC. The binary reader issue in arachne-pnr remains, but at least I can synthesize bitstreams now.
Good to hear icepack is working. I'll look into the binary reader issue, hunch is it might be an old CRLF chestnut
Ty for looking into it. Wouldn't be surprised at all if line endings reared their ugly head. I'd look into it myself, but recently just hasn't been a good time to learn how arachne/ice40 works in detail.
I'm afraid I can't reproduce the chipdb problem with MSYS2 MinGW 32-bit, g++ 6.3.0 . I'm going to need a bit more info on your environment I think.
One possibility is that a Makefile issue is installing the new binary chipdbs to the incorrect location, so not overwriting the old ones, can you make sure there are no binary chipdbs anywhere on the system and try make again?
that is probably issue here, thing is that arachne-pnr expects on windows to find chipdb files in same folder as binary, and icestorm stores it on other location, so it is up to @oe1cxw to decide where we should fix. make install change on icestorm depending of OS is easy to do
I think a a version indicator/buid ID in the binary chipdb is also worthwhile, to make this easier to debug if it is the case, because binary chipdbs aren't stable across versions (or even compilers/platforms)
Implemented in https://github.com/cseed/arachne-pnr/pull/92 …
That was fast! :) Merged.
