I'll be interested to see how that goes. Generally with the large EDA tools vendors, unless you're a top-tier customer most bug reports are ignored. What's worse is when they do so because "that's how it's always worked and changing now would break stuff".
I agree with the first part of your statement but not with the second. I have not yet seen a vendor "double down" on a violation of the language standard by claiming that compatibility with their own previous version is more important than compatibility with the rest of the world
