Interlocks are a critical safety feature of a machine like that. They explicitly told me that they were impressed with the amount of verification that went into PicoRV32. I guess here the argument is: With OSHW we see how it is verified, with comm IPs we can only trust vendor.
"commercial IP is supported" I literally have not once gotten any helpful support from xilinx for where their synthesis doesn't play nice and I can't fix their synthesis because the whole process is opaque

I'm always impressed with the "comercial grade" bs. I saw "comercial grade source code" in the past, it wasn't a masterpiece :)
