It absolutely is. How would you do something like the thing I just posted with ISE? You could use XDL of course, but how would you query the physical structure of the chip so you'd know what to put in the XDL file?
I don't know, as I don't normally use ISE for the GUI- I typically just use it in command line mode to synthesize my crap.
And I'd love to be able to use Vivado, but sadly I have too many S3/6 boards to justify abandoning ship, and my hard drive can't handle the awesome (badness) that's VivaISE :(.
