So....hypothetically speaking....if someone left the top off a brand-new bottle of gin overnight, how much alcohol would by lost by morning?

I would guess that evaporation rate is low, especially as air in bottle will first saturate preventing much further loss.
That was my first thought as well. I don't think the question can be answered without CFD sim of bottle geometry + model of approx air flow around the bottle. Maybe put gin into large flat open container (eg soup plate) to create easier problem? (First 280 post. \o/ ;)

Yes. Thinking about it just keeping the gin in a closed bottle would create an even easier CFD problem.
"Evaporation rate of ethanol in aqueous solution in a closed container" For OpenAccess this could pass easily. :)
