Like You, I myself do not have enough time or necessarily the right aptitude for it, I am however looking at the bigger picture and wondering about sponsoring the right person to do so. Have you looked at the ECP5 architecture would it make sense with Arachne-pnr or a new pnr?

I have not looked at the ECP5, but I think a new pnr will be the right choice: (1) ECP5 is much larger -> so simulated annealing wont work
