The more I think about Posits (Type-III Unums) the more I'm amazed about how natural the encoding feels. It just "feels right".

I know REX Computing is building a chip with support for posits. But I haven't seen any HDL of course.
But it pretty much is the same circuitry as for IEEE floats just with a posit decoder (and encoder) and without many of the special cases.
