The more I think about Posits (Type-III Unums) the more I'm amazed about how natural the encoding feels. It just "feels right".
A bit like twos complement just feels right and the obvious signed int implementation as soon as you understood it and the alternatives.

Unpopular opinion- I don't like the fact that I take twos complement for granted. While yes it's objectively the best format for signed >>

numbers, if you asked me to implement, say, a ones complement adder and prove it works for all (2^16)*2 inputs I would have trouble doing so
