      (Mapping the SRAM at zero has the advantage that I can address it with the zero register, so I don't need to spill another reg as pointer.)

      Of course, it also invalidates perhaps the most common paradigm in C programming - 0 as the invalid, or NULL, pointer. Is it worth it?

      At least that fixed the UB that comes from using a pointer to zero. Only in very rare cases you'd have an actual object there, so I'm not >>

          So it's not like malloc() will ever return a "null pointer". (In this particular firmware there isn't even a malloc. :)
