I just shattered a glass candle holder by pouring hot water on it. How else are you supposed to remove the old candle wax?!

by warming it slower i guess? :) water bath or something
Even slower?! I don't have *that* much time. And in the past my method always works. Clearly the fault is with the candle holder.. :)
