is it possible to detect and warn about clock edges at timestamp 0?
Maybe, but that's a simulator issue and has nothing to do with any of my tools. (Another distinction that ppl sending me mails don't make :)

I meant via static check rather than at simulation time but it would be easier to do in a simulator

It's in the testbench. So by definition my synthesis tool does not even see the file, how should it statically check it then?
