A priority queue?
Writing a "reorder FIFO" that sorts elements as they go through. Just realized that this is not a FIFO at all. Now I need a new name..

Had to do weird FIFOs once, with e.g. blocking the producer when it tried to push elements already in the FIFO. Called it a "HazardGuard" :P
