Okay look I have always absolutely hated the moments tab but why is it showing me signs from a nazi demonstration in Portland

Twitter literally doesn't give me a choice whether to look at the moments tab. The Android app cannot switch tabs without showing it briefly

I guess theoretically you could use twitter via VPN with non-US IP or use TOR with non-US exit node. (Not a serious suggestion of course. :)

Before my first visit to the US I did not even know that the moments tab is a thing. This is what it looks like with an Austrian IP addr:pic.twitter.com/BLdhek6Qkq

In the US if you tap the magnifying glass tab it shows you annoying curated content underneath the search bar

Same here. So annoying. "No, Twitter! Me telling you what I'm looking for = search. You telling me what you think I'd like = not search."pic.twitter.com/sUpQ1tndxy

But here in .at I don't think it's curated content. Just some ML crapping out suggestions based on my activity.

Here they curate little packages of tweets with summaries & an image, image usually of something disturbing like D. Trump or a Nazi protest

I think that was somewhere else in the UI when I was in the US last time (Nov16). If I remember correctly search wasn't a separate tab then.
