I just managed to kill the driver for my network card with an out-of-bounds write in my GPU code!? Security of those GPUs must be awesome..

Yep. But maybe that will increase the pressure on GPU vendors to get security right. Like what Ping of death did for OS networking security.

Yes. But in times of CUDA uniform memory a GPU write is not limited to GPU memory.
