good call. Though I do wonder about the LUT packing of the mux version. Might be better for smaller vectors.
for smaller vectors the first version might be better because of lack of alu-type operations. 1/

so its just a "logic cloud" that is merged with the surrounding logic and optimized as one "logic blob" by the back-end. 2/

the exact encoding shouldn't matter in this case because its mapped to a generic logic function anyways. 3/
